The Centre will also aim at not only training new generations of university primate scientists but also contemplates the creation of programs of capacity building directed to members of rural communities in China to create teams of citizen primate scientists. Considering the need to encompass a China-wide need for medium and long-term monitoring of primate populations, the participation of rural communities through the creation of teams of community citizen primate scientists in this endeavor is critical.
