I am a biologist, ecologist, and biological anthropologist specializing in primate behavior, ecology, and conservation. I am interested in understanding how primates cope with habitat fragmentation at the individual and population level, the causes and consequences of their adaptation to small habitat patches, primate-parasite relationships, the conservation implications of infectious disease outbreaks, and what the use of plants with medicinal properties as food sources can tell us about the evolutionary basis of self-medication and the discovery of new drugs against human and animal pathogens.
