Charles Oxnard’s career started in 1952 and has involved work in anatomy, behaviour, biomechanics, morphometrics, especially in mammals and primates.  It has also included problems in medicine, surgery and forensics. A particular major theme has been in primate evolution including many of the world’s primate fossils. Studies have especially involved Chinese colleagues starting with Harry Yang in 1969, Artyan Hsu, in 1978, Wu Rukang and Wu Xinjhe in the 1980s, Pan Ruliang, from the 1990s to the present, and with current Centre Members during the last three years. Publications include more than 200 papers, and more than 30 books and edited volumes.
