Bird monitoring training in Eastern-Himalaya School

Eastern-Himalaya School is engaging on improving still of wildlife monitoring of staffs who work in local nature reserve. Two kind of term are hold by the Institute of Eastern-Himalaya Biodiversity Research, one is short term training, in which the students come to learn for special still about one week, like arcGis, paperwork, and so on. The other is long-term training, in which the students will stay in the institute for three months. They will learn to write proposal of project, report of project, data analysis, preparing manuscript and submission of paper.
On January 10, 2019, 3 students from Gaoligong national nature reserve are involving with bird biodiversity monitoring project in Mt. Lasha. They learn how to monitoring bird and record in field under guide by Dr. Wang Rong-Xing, from Institute of Eastern-Himalayan Biodiversity Research.

Bird diversity monitoring such as line-transect and point methods were used during field work. And fifty bird species were recorded in this survey during training, including Spelaeornis troglodytoides, Prunella Collaris, Mycerobas Carnipes, Mycerobas Affinis, Troglodytes Troglodytes, Pyrrhula erythaca and Pinicola Subhimachala.
